Whatever the technique, everything is opportune in the service of the eye in action and a great vision.

My intention is to seek the contours of a reality that does not exist, of an invisible presence, capturing that  « elusive grace » in the visible. Primary energy that each photograph carries within it by the very principle of existing.

 

I have no specific method, everything is appropriate upon the intention, yet the tool and technique always at the service of the expression. Importance is, what triggers the most at the moment? The photographers walk around and follow their own feelings and emotions… all it takes, is a blink of an eye each time, a displacement for the image to tell something else.

 

Chemistry experimentation is my first approach to reality and has never left me. Nothing is more effective than the darkroom revelation of an image on a blank medium. Latency, inversion, abscence-presence the same, it all depends on what is watched and who is watching.

I operate in that « place » when things are becoming. Something that comes, not quite born, but already there, maybe in halftone.  Erasure, disappearance, neutral gray, diffuse light or the blur that which absorbs, softens, enriches the reading. Motion-, focus-, overlay-, or shadow-blur is nothing but misplaced sharpness. Yet things happen in that shift. They subtly outline that there is no beginning no end, that the living substance is uncreated and eternal. This elusive dash between space and time, that is life. The magical image captures the truth of the « first breath on the blade of grass ». So is the quest. Thank you.
